There is still plenty of baseball to be played in the area. Four area teams have reached south state in their respective classifications, while both local MAIS schools have reached the semifinals.
Oak Grove advances to play to Brandon in South State in Class 7A. Sumrall and Purvis will rematch in the Class 4A South State championship series, while Sacred Heart will face Taylorsville in the Class 1A series. In the MAIS, Presbyterian Christian will face Madison-Ridgeland Academy in Class 6A, and Lamar Christian will take on Prarie View Academy in Class 3A.
