Pine Belt Young Professionals, an arm of the Area Development Partnership, will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on May 8 at Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg.
The organization is teaming up with Vitalant, a nonprofit organization with 125 donation centers across the United States, for the drive.
“In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an urgent need for blood donations,” according to a media release from the ADP, which serves the greater Hattiesburg area as a chamber of commerce and economic development agency.
Donors will have their temperatures taken upon arrival.
Social distancing and sanitizing procedures will also be in place.
