With Oak Grove’s top two wide receivers, senior Kevin Barnett and junior Brandon Hayes, out due to injuries the Warriors took a ‘next man up mentality’ in their 39-7 win over George County Friday night.

SEMINARY – On Friday night in Seminary, the Purvis Tornadoes showed some bright spots on both sides of the ball. But, they also had some mistakes.

In the end, the Seminary Bulldogs were too much for the Tornadoes, beating them 42-21 to drop Purvis to 1-4 on the season.

On this week’s episode, Camal and Andrew touch on the high school teams that are starting region play and the numerous Southern Miss storylines surrounding the football program.

The record doesn’t look good, but don’t be fooled. The Purvis Tornadoes could be turning the corner and figuring things out. After earning their first win before the bye week two weeks ago, the Tornadoes hung tough with undefeated Mendenhall last Friday.


Bobcats continue division play with road trip to Southwest

ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College is riding a three-game winning streak and received votes in the latest NJCAA football poll.

Southwest is winless and has had a number of injuries during the first part of the season.

But JCJC head coach Steve Buckley said the Bears will provide a test for the Bobcats this week.


PRCC steps out of division this week

Warriors travel to George County

LUCEDALE – After a quick 3-0 start for Oak Grove, it had a scheduled bye week immediately after its first loss of the season to Hattiesburg.

On one hand, players had to stew on their first loss of the season, anxiously waiting for region play to start this Friday, but on the flip side, it gave the Warriors a chance to get healthy.


Crusaders bring momentum to Resurrection to open region play

PASCAGOULA – Sacred Heart needed something good to go in its direction heading into Region 8-1A play this week, and it got that Friday in a 21-14 win over St. Patrick.

The Crusaders snapped a two-game losing skid to get back in the win column, which gives them a little positive momentum before playing Resurrection (1-4) Friday night.
