Preen feathers for annual ‘Hobble Then Gobble’ race

By STAFF REPORTS,

The Arc of Southeast Mississippi, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supporting individuals and families faced with the challenge of a disability, will host the 14th annual Hobble Then Gobble Thanksgiving Day Race on Thursday, Nov. 28, beginning and ending at the Lake Serene Clubhouse. Early registration is open through November 7.

With three race options to choose from, runners and Arc supporters of all abilities can participate in this Thanksgiving Day tradition. Both race routes run through picturesque Lake Serene, on neighborhood streets with gentle hills, and between two lakes with tree-lined shores. The 5-mile course is not only beautiful, its relative ease makes it perfect for first time racers.

• 5-Mile Run – Registration $25

• 2-Mile Walk – Registration $15

• Virtual 5-Mile Race – Registration $15

Arc supporters who won’t be in Hattiesburg for Thanksgiving can also participate in the Hobble Then Gobble. Virtual racers can complete the run or walk at the location of their choice and share in the excitement of the event. This allows participants to be with on-site runners in spirit and help raise funds for The Arc from wherever they are.

Hobble then Gobble begins at the Lake Serene Clubhouse at 256 W. Lake Road in Hattiesburg, with check-in and late registration beginning at 6:45 am. For more information, or to sign up as a race participant, visit https://raceroster.com/events/2019/26940/hobble-then-gobble-2019 or the Hobble then Gobble event page on Facebook.

The Arc serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and the community that supports them.
