All persons interested in substituting in the Petal School District for the 2020-2021 school year must attend a training session conducted by the school district.
The training will from 8:30-11:30 a.m. July 27 at the ReD Lab behind Petal Middle School, 209 3rd Avenue.
Masks will be optional unless notified otherwise.
All new substitutes must meet the following qualifications to substitute teach in the district:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have 48 hours of college credit or a passing score on the ACT WorkKeys test (required tests include Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, and Writing or Business Writing, or the ACT WorkKeys Silver Level certification).
• Complete substitute training conducted by the district.
• Submit to a complete background check performed by the Petal School District Police Department (at a cost of $25 to the substitute).
