Children’s concert set Feb. 14 at Petal Performing Arts Center


Celebrate the love of learning through music at the Petal Education Foundation’s 11th annual Children’s Musical Concert Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Petal Performing Arts Center. Stephen Fite is an award-winning musician/writer whose albums have received 18 nationally-recognized honors. 

Fite’s upbeat movement and curriculum based songs are targeted for Pre-K through 2nd grade classrooms and the children of Petal and the Pine Belt are invited to enjoy and participate in this musical concert.

 He has performed more than 1,100 concerts for more than 850,000 children as well as keynotes and workshops for educators in the United States.

The Petal Education Foundation and the Petal School District Center for Families and Children are coordinating two children’s concerts. All funds raised will go to the PEF to support early childhood development in the Petal community.

Concerts are schedule for 9 and 10:15 a.m.  Coordinators should call early to assure the proper number of seats for school groups. The last date for placing reservations will be Friday, Feb. 8.  

The cost of admission is $6 per person. Teachers with official school identification badges will be admitted free of charge. Entry to the concert for all other adults will be $6 per person. Tickets will be available at the ticket booth the day of the concert.

Groups of ten or more must have reservations. Reservations may be made by phone or email. Prepayment must accompany the reservation of a group of 10 or more. Contact Leahne Lightsey, 601-545-3002, Checks should be made payable to the Petal Education Foundation.
