Police have arrested two suspects in connection with three auto burglaries in the Bellewood subdivision off Old Highway 11 in Hattiesburg.
Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel said deputies received a call shortly after midnight Tuesday in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies identified and pulled over the vehicle, and found several stolen items such as guns, purses and checks.
Officers arrested 24-year-old David Isaac Beery of Sumrall, along with a 17-year-old juvenile from Petal.
“They identified where the (stolen items) had come from, and contacted the victims and got their property back to them,” Rigel said.
Beery and the juvenile, whose identity is not being released because of his age, have each been charged with two counts of automobile burglary. The juvenile is being held in the Forrest County Juvenile Detention Center and will soon go before a youth court judge.
