The Petal School District will soon add two new school buses to its fleet.
During last week’s meeting of the Petal School District Board of Directors, board members approved the purchase of the two vehicles at a cost of between $85,000 and $86,000 per bus.

After more than 40 years as an educator, Carolyn Lott Adams submitted her resignation at last week’s Lamar County School District Board of Trustees meeting in Purvis.
Adams cited personal reasons for leaving the position, with her resignation becoming effective July 31.
