As an added bonus for those who register for the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet, chamber members will have the opportunity to take part in a complimentary leadership session with Chuck E. Parish, a certified coach trainer and speaker for the John Maxwell Team.
The session, known as The Leading Petal 21 Transformation Project, will be held in partnership with HomeCare Hospice and is focused on developing transformational leaders who, in turn, transform communities.
“Dr. Chuck Parish has worked closely with John Maxwell on methods of bringing out the best in people, and now he’s turning his expertise to our members and generously donating his time,” said Valerie Wilson, executive director of the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce. “He is absolutely driven and enthusiastic about trying to make Petal the best that Petal can be.
“You start that by giving people – employers and individuals – the tools that they need, so that’s what he’s doing. He’s giving them the tools they need to be more influential in our community.”
Parish, who is a certified chaplain with the International Federation of Christian Chaplains, is a HomeCare Hospice administrator who has served health care professionals in memory care since 1990. He is a life connection consultant with extensive nonprofit leadership service.
Chamber members who register for the banquet can take advantage of the one-hour Leading Petal 21 Transformation Project, which provides live training for individuals or groups on personal growth, becoming a person of influence, and discovering, pursuing and developing purpose. “It’s insights that are practical and easy to apply,” Wilson said. “This will help managers see their employees respond with new enthusiasm, and it will help sales people break new records and help pastors reach more people.
“Whatever your vocation, you can increase your impact on others, and (Parish) helps lead the way by becoming a person of influence.”
The chamber’s banquet will be held at noon Feb. 18 on a streaming platform to be determined in the near future. Award recipients to be honored at the event include Drew Brickson for the Bobby Runnels Leadership Award, Allen Flynt for the inaugural Spirit of Petal Business of the Year Award, Will Bullock as Firefighter of the Year and Aaron Jernigan as Police Officer of the Year.
Tickets to this year’s banquet are free of charge and can be found at petalchamber.com.
