Petal school board receives annual reports from athletics, nutrition, technology

During last week’s meeting of the Petal School District Board of Directors, board members received annual reports from three more district departments: athletics, child nutrition and technology. The reports were in addition to three reports received at the April 10 meeting and four reports at the March 13 meeting.

Hub City not Immune To Protests

The tragedy that struck Charlottesville, Virginia, last week has left much uncertainty and disarray in its wake. The aftermath of the white nationalist rally resulted in one death and approximately 34 injuries.

The fallout has not been solely physical. Protests have broken out across the country, and Hattiesburg is no exception.

Faculty, staff, students raise over $6K for Texas school district

Faculty, staff and students in Petal School District have been pinching pennies lately as a way to pay it forward to other districts affected by hurricanes.

After Petal was hit by a tornado in January, numerous school districts reached out to Petal School District to offer assistance.
