Carey Dinner Theatre winds down season with second show

Carey Dinner Theatre’s second musical of the summer season is “Peace Like a River.” The gospel comedy runs July 9-20 at Tatum Theatre at William Carey University’s Hattiesburg campus.

The sequel to CDT’s 2011 hit, “Peace in the Valley,” the show continues the story of Harmony Valley Church and the confusion that reigns there.





Confederate Railroad, Restless Heart to headline Petal Fall Festival

The City of Petal Fall Festival will offer attendees double the fun this year with not one, but two big-name musical headliners: Confederate Railroad and Restless Heart.

The ninth annual festival will be held starting at 10 a.m. October 26 at Hinton Park, behind Petal Civic Center off South Main Street.

On Friday, July 5, 2019, Hattiesburg police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of Arcadia Street, at Captain D’s, just before 1 p.m.
