Black History Month: USO busy planning kick off event for a busy February

The African American Military History Museum will be hosting a new exhibition - Shaping America: African American Women in the Armed Forces and Beyond.

The kickoff event is set for January 30 at 10:00 a.m., at the historic USO, located in the heart of the Sixth Street Museum District.

It’s time to modernize the United States Constitution.  The means and method for doing this would involve a Constitutional Convention with debate among jurists, political scientists, historians, other learned persons and include a representative sampling of Americans from across the nation’s cultural spectrum.


EMERGING ARTISTS: HAC spotlights works of up-and-coming artists

Each year, the Hattiesburg Arts Council recognizes up-and-coming local professional artists with an emerging artist exhibit. A great group of visual artists will be featured and honored with a reception from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Hattiesburg Cultural Association, 723 North Main Street.
