FestivalSouth canceled, but Best of the Pine Belt competition voting will continue online

The Hattiesburg Concert Association, which presents FestivalSouth, announced Wednesday that the festival has been canceled and that all events have been moved to 2021.

However, online voting in the Best of the Pine Belt awards, which are sponsored by Signature Magazine, will continue.

Andrews resigns from Mississippi House amid quarrel with Gunn

Representative Billy Andrews of Purvis has resigned from the Mississippi House of Representatives, about two months after indicating Republican House Speaker Philip Gunn is going against state law by blocking him and other members of the Legislature from receiving their state government pensions while serving in the House.




Forrest General, Hattiesburg Clinic open Cough & Fever Clinic to limit number of coronavirus cases

In the face of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Forrest General Hospital and Hattiesburg Clinic are partnering to open a Cough & Fever Clinic to help stop the spread of the virus by reducing the number of symptomatic patients who visit a primary or urgent care facility.


Forrest Health officials: 'Listen to the facts,' not rumors

There’s no way to tell you how full my heart is.  
My niece and nephew haven’t gotten to spend much time, if any, with Matthew, so seeing him play with them just reminds me of how blessed we all are. And, of course, there’s Jason who bought Matthew Christmas books and has given him one every few days this year.
