Petal to temporarily shut down senior center, take steps to protect firefighters in response to Coronavirus

In response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus – particularly the one presumptive case in Forrest County – officials from the City of Petal are taking steps to prevent the spread of the virus, including temporarily closing the Petal Senior Center and increasing safety measures for firefighters responding to emergency situations.

Over the past couple of seasons, the Petal High Speech and Debate Team has put on impressive performances at competitions around the country, with showings at the Harvard National Invitational Forensics Tournament, the Delores Taylor Arthur School World Schools Invitational, and the Navy and Gold Debate and Speech Exhibition.

Breakfast with dad

Every parent has a go-to breakfast. In our house, my wife typically makes the before-school morning meal. Most days, I was already at work while the kids were preparing for school. I fill in on occasion with “daddy breakfasts.”

Daddy breakfasts are usually reserved for special occasions or out-of-town sojourns with the guys.
