If you were watching pro football Sunday, you probably saw 76-year-old Jimmy Johnson, the former two-time Super Bowl champion coach of the Dallas Cowboys, tearfully receive the news he has been selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.


The time is now to get serious and land that deer you've set out for.

Officials sworn in for new terms in Forrest and Lamar counties

A host of officials from Forrest and Lamar Counties were sworn in to their new terms Monday morning after winning their seats in the recent November general election. Swearing-in ceremonies were conducted by judges in the circuit courts in each of the counties, with each term running for four years.

SUMRALL: School board declares state of emergency for SHS softball facility

Lamar County School District officials are hoping an emergency declaration for the softball complex at Sumrall High School will expedite that site’s recovery from the EF3 tornado that barreled through the area in December, tearing off the backstop, knocking down the bleachers and sending pieces of lumber through the building.
