Locals compete for state title

Four Hub City-area contestants began preliminary competition on Wednesday night in their bid to become the next Miss Mississippi. Forty-five young ladies from across the state arrived in Vicksburg on Sunday for a week full or rehearsals, interviews and public appearances prior to the preliminary competition.

In 1975, I met the original Rhinestone Cowboy.  At least, that’s what he said, and my 9 year old self believed him.

Loy Bowlin had a vision in his later years.  Frequented by dreams of sparkles, color, and heavenly radiance, Bowlin began creating handmade art like a mad genius, with hands divinely directed.
