USM announces temporary waiver for graduate school test requirements

In response to current restrictions created by the COVID-19 health crisis, the University of Southern Mississippi is temporarily waiving requirements for the Graduate Management Admission Test and the Graduate Records Examinations for all Graduate School applicants during the summer and fall 2020 admission periods.

Southern Miss renovation project temporarily halted after worker tests positive for COVID-19

Renovations to Cook Library at the University of Southern Mississippi have been halted after an employee of the subcontractor assigned to the project tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee was last on campus 10 days ago, said Jim Coll, chief communication officer for the university.

Hattiesburg public schools providing breakfast, lunch for students during crisis

Although Hattiesburg public schools are closed until deemed safe from COVID-19, the schools continue to provide breakfast and lunch for students.

Children age 18 and under can pick up free meals in a local school’s drop-off car line even if they are not students at the school. Walk-ups are also welcome for those who are nearby.
