A Family Man: Southern Miss Social Work’s Tim Rehner built relationships, shaped lives

Tim Rehner knew only one soul in Mississippi when he moved here, but he has spent 25½ years in Hattiesburg and Petal surrounded by family.

First there are his wife, Kay, and daughters Kendra, Kathryn and Karolyne. Eventually, two sons-in-law and two grandsons followed, and now there is a third son-in-law-in-waiting.

Former Presbyterian Christian basketball coach Josh Dorman was in an unusual position after announcing he was stepping away from his positions as coach and athletics director. Along with Dr. Allen Smithers, PCS’ Headmaster, Dorman got to help pick his successor.

DIFATTA: Before a day on the water, do much-needed inspections

After a fun-filled day of skiing at Paul B. Johnson State Park a long, long time ago, my friends (both of 'em) and I were headed back to Hattiesburg when a pickup, towing a really nice (as in expensive) ocean-going fishing vessel, blew by us like a rocket and topped the hill. When we reached the top, a frightful sight greeted us.
