 On my usual Saturday drive to Walmart on U.S. 49, I often find myself driving past the abandoned Pat Harrison Waterway District building. 

You've seen it a million times. The building was located near Mamie Street and the highway, at the main entrance to Forrest General Hospital.

Sumrall earns first win over Purvis since 2007

SUMRALL – With the Sumrall Bobcats holding on to a touchdown lead, the Purvis Tornadoes had a chance to tie the game after recovering a fumble in the second quarter by Sumrall senior quarterback Dannis Jackson.  However, Sumrall’s senior defensive lineman Solomon Landrum shifted the tide with a fumble recovery of his own – the Bobcats’ 15th tur

The Hattiesburg Tigers had just clinched the school’s first state baseball championship since 2006, and it was the first title of Hartfield’s head-coaching career.
