$25,000: District 3 supervisor provides funds for PHS project

The Petal High School student ambassadors want to make their school more beautiful and safe for students on campus with an Outdoor Assembly Project. 

During the June 3 meeting of the Forrest County Board of Supervisors, District 3 Supervisor Burkett Ross presented a check for $25,000 to fund the project.

INAUGURAL CLASs: Foundation announces 14 HPSD Hall of Fame members

Fourteen distinguished alumni of Hattiesburg’s city schools will be inducted into the inaugural HPSD Foundation Hall of Fame during a two-day event Oct. 4-5.

Inductees for the first-ever Hattiesburg Hall of Fame class come from the fields of business, politics, education, medicine, entertainment, journalism and sports.

Sumrall earns first win over Purvis since 2007
