Parkway Heights celebrates 70 years

Seventy years ago, a group met to form Parkway Heights Methodist Church. On Feb. 20, the exact day these folks gathered, the current membership of the church will gather for a party, complete with food, cake, music, videos, testimonies and skits. In the words of Pastor Bruce Case, “we’re going to party like it’s 1949.” The fun begins at 6 p.m.



HHS senior tapped as Presidential Scholar; bids opened for work on district schools

Hattiesburg High School senior Owen Sayre is one of only 76 Mississippi students nominated to be a U.S. Presidential Scholar, a program established in 1964 by executive order of the U.S. President to honor and recognize some of the nation's top graduating high school seniors.
