Newly-named interim Director of Athletics Jeff Mitchell never imagined the chair he’d be sitting in six months ago. He just returned to Mississippi in the fall to take the Deputy Athletics Director post at Southern Miss after 12 years in California.

A 1,000-point club member, Hudson signs with PRCC

PURVIS – Senior Kennedy Hudson joined rare company earlier this season by eclipsing the 1,000-point club in her Lady Tornadoes career, but her final five points were a little tougher to get than the first 995.

“(Joining the 1,000-point club) showed that the hard work over the past three years had paid off,” Hudson said.

Last May, Joe Hartfield was on top of the world. The Hattiesburg Tigers had just clinched the school’s first state baseball championship since 2006, and it was the first title of Hartfield’s head-coaching career. Some know the pain he has dealt with during the last couple of years, but most don’t know the whole truth.
