The automated touchdown machine, or “A-T-M”, has been pumping out touchdowns left and right for the Hattiesburg Tigers. When most high school fans across the state look at the entire Hattiesburg team, they see offensive production and fireworks.
On this week’s episode of The PineBeltSPORTS Podcast, Camal and Andrew take a look around the high school football landscape after four weeks of games, as well as Southern Miss through two games.
The Sumrall Bobcats are on so much of a hot streak to begin the 2018 season that even a malfunction with the on-field sprinkler system during last Friday’s game couldn’t even cool them off. In the last two games, Sumrall scored 73 points and only allowed 13 points to Sacred Heart and Enterprise.
When a young team like Presbyterian Christian is in the process of gaining experience week by week, the players need a game like last week. In a 20-7 loss, the Bobcats were in the game, and there’s something to be said for that.
Hattiesburg remains the No. 2 team in the state in the Mississippi AP Prep Poll, while Oak Grove dropped out after losing to the Tigers Friday night. The Tigers are also No. 1 in 5A, collecting 10 of the 12 first-place votes.
HATTIESBURG – Senior Drexlan Allen is out to prove a lot of things when he’s toting the ball for the Hattiesburg Tigers. Not only is he trying to help his team get back to the 5A State Championship, he’s trying to prove to college coaches that he deserves a Division I shot.
