Nine students from the Petal School District received their presents early as they took part in the district police department’s annual Shop with Panther Police.

The program began three years ago at the suggestion of Petal School District Chief of Police Gavin Guy.




City sees jump in registered users on new app

As of Tuesday, Mayor Hal Marx said the city’s app now has 91 registered users.

The app offers an interactive and easy-to-use option for staying informed about the goings on in the city and for submitting work orders.

It is free to download and opens up a two-way communication between residents and city workers and officials.
