Lighthouse Dash raises $29K for Petal Children's Task Force

Despite the threat of menacing weather, the sixth annual Lighthouse Dash on April 14 gave officials at Petal Children’s Task Force about 29,000 reasons to be happy for the year ahead.

About 92 participants showed up for the event, helping to raise the $29,000 that will go toward the task force’s food bank.




Lamar County School District travels to Barn at Bridlewood for Roll and Read

The annual Roll and Read event sponsored by the Lamar County School District’s Parents as Teachers will be held Tuesday, May 1, at the Barn at Bridlewood, 32 Railroad Road.

Alicia Clark of Parents as Teachers said the book, “Little Blue Truck” by Alice Schertle, will be featured during the two sessions on May 1.
