A discussion last Thursday over bids received by the Lamar County Board of Supervisors for at least one wheel loader turned into an examination of the bidding process and the way the specifications were written. The end result was all three bids were thrown out and rebidding will delay purchase of a wheel loader for a month.


McGee clinches District 102 seat

Lifelong Hattiesburg resident Missy McGee outdistanced social worker Kathryn Rehner by a 2-1 margin during a runoff Tuesday to capture the vacant state House District 102 seat, which includes Forrest and Lamar counties.McGee collected 2,107 votes to 1,000 for Rehner in the runoff, which was required because neither candidate collected a majorit
