“Hattiesburg, help us kick off the holiday season on Thursday, December 2 for the Christmas Parade hosted by Hattiesburg Jaycees and our annual Christmas Tree Lighting event, both taking place in Downtown Hattiesburg,” reads a recent announcement by the Downtown Hattiesburg Association.
“This year’s tree-lighting theme, “Come, All Ye Faithful,” is a simple nod to what our community has experienced over the last few years and both joy and triumph as we move into much better days ahead.”
Schedule of Events
• 6 p.m. – Annual Jaycee’s Christmas Parade, begins at 2nd Avenue/West Pine Street.
• 7 p.m. – Music Program at Town Square Park Begins
• 7:25 p.m. – Tree Lighting by Mayor Toby Barker and Mrs. Kate Barker at Town Square Park
• 7:35 p.m. – Art Makes Art, Inc. Performance (Creators of Hattiesburlesque) at Town Square Park
