Black History Month: USO busy planning kick off event for a busy February

The African American Military History Museum will be hosting a new exhibition - Shaping America: African American Women in the Armed Forces and Beyond.

The kickoff event is set for January 30 at 10:00 a.m., at the historic USO, located in the heart of the Sixth Street Museum District.

Annual Caerus Mardi Gras parade rolls through Midtown Saturday, Feb. 15

The 9th Annual Caerus Mardi Gras Parade will roll at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.

Spectators are invited to come early, and “come hungry,” according to Melissa Saucier of Keith’s Superstores, sponsors of the annual event.

“Expect to see and feel the magic of Mardi Gras as beads and trinkets rain down over the crowds,” she said.
