Dangers of drunk driving: Sumrall students get sobering first-hand lessons

After a demonstration last week showing students the dangers of driving while intoxicated, it’s doubtful that Sumrall High School seniors Zane Berry, Peyton King and Dylan Lowe – or any of the other 11th- and 12th-graders at the school – will ever get behind the wheel after being nothing less than stone-cold sober.


Ranked 40th worldwide, OGUE AquaBots making third trip to VEX IQ competition

The AquaBots are no strangers to success: over the course of the current season, the all-girls robotics team from Oak Grove Upper Elementary School has won 12 awards and finished in second place in programming and drivers’ skills at the Mississippi State Robotics Championship.



Proclamation lauds soil/conservation district employee

In the 18 months that Lisa Browning has served as the education director for the Lamar County Soil and Water Conservation District, she has shared the importance of conservation of natural resources with more than 4,000 residents and has been named District Employee of the Year by the Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts.
