Mayor issues executive order limiting restaurants, bars and nightclubs

To help protect the health of the community during the current COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Toby Barker has issued an executive order that will limit the hours and services of Hattiesburg restaurants, bars and nightclubs – including closing earlier and limiting the number of customers – while still allowing those establishments to fulfill the needs



Forrest General, Hattiesburg Clinic open Cough & Fever Clinic to limit number of coronavirus cases

In the face of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Forrest General Hospital and Hattiesburg Clinic are partnering to open a Cough & Fever Clinic to help stop the spread of the virus by reducing the number of symptomatic patients who visit a primary or urgent care facility.




Lamar Co. officials remain vigilant on Coronavirus safety

While there have been no reported – or even presumptive – cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus in Lamar County, officials there are being vigilant in educating their residents on safety measures and have pledged their resources and cooperation to Hattiesburg and Forrest County, which has had one presumptive case of the virus.


Petal to temporarily shut down senior center, take steps to protect firefighters in response to Coronavirus

In response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus – particularly the one presumptive case in Forrest County – officials from the City of Petal are taking steps to prevent the spread of the virus, including temporarily closing the Petal Senior Center and increasing safety measures for firefighters responding to emergency situations.
