JCJC soccer sweeps Northwest

ELLISVILLE – The Jones College soccer teams knocked off Northwest Mississippi in a pair of games here Monday evening at Bobcat Soccer Field.

In the women’s game, the Lady Bobcats blitzed the Lady Rangers, 8-0. In the men’s contest, Jones posted a 3-1 decision. Both Jones teams are now 2-0.


Dew returns to JCJC

ELLISVILLE – A former Jones County Junior College softball standout is returning home.

Tori Dew, who played at JCJC in 2014-15, will be the new assistant softball coach at Jones.

Head coach Chris Robinson made the announcement Thursday morning.







No. 2 Bobcats swept by No. 20 MCC; will host playoff series

MERIDIAN – No. 2 Jones County could not come up with a win here Sunday afternoon at Scaggs Field vs. No. 20 Meridian.

The Eagles beat the Bobcats 16-8 in seven innings in game one, snapping an 18-game JCJC winning streak. In game two, MCC scored three runs in its final at-bat and beat Jones, 13-12 in eight innings.
