The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality awarded the city of Hattiesburg a solid waste assistance grant of $75,000 that will be used by the city for a household hazardous waste collection program.
The grant will help fund “Right Way to Throw Away Day,” a partnership between the city and Forrest and Lamar counties.
