Each year, the Hattiesburg Arts Council recognizes up-and-coming local professional artists with an emerging artist exhibit. A great group of visual artists will be featured and honored with a reception from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Hattiesburg Cultural Association, 723 North Main Street.

Ben Presley Aultman died Oct. 2019. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at First Baptist Church Sumrall with the service will follow at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Presley-Watts Cemetery.
Chris Staples will be in Hattiesburg on Saturday, Nov. 2, for an Encore Showing of City Lights + Music Nights. This concert will take place at the new Community Arts Center (formerly the Hattiesburg American Building). The show begins at 8 p.m.

The Arc of Southeast Mississippi, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supporting individuals and families faced with the challenge of a disability, will host the 14th annual Hobble Then Gobble Thanksgiving Day Race on Thursday, Nov. 28, beginning and ending at the Lake Serene Clubhouse. Early registration is open through November 7.
Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg’s annual charity ball fundraiser is set for Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Hattiesburg Country Club. The event, which raises money to directly benefit local children and families through community projects, begins at 6 p.m. Event tickets are $100 per couple and include appetizers and a meal.
