PHOTOS: Sumrall drops first game of the season


PEARL – The Sumrall Bobcats suffered their first loss of the season Saturday morning with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Faith Academy (Mobile). Sumrall is now 4-1 on the young season.

Faith Academy took a 1-0 lead in the bottom in the second before Sumrall tied the game 1-1 in the fourth. Faith Academy added two more runs in the fifth and sixth inning to push ahead, then held on for the win.

Sumrall is back in action Saturday with a 3 p.m. game against Grissom (Huntsville, Ala.) at Northwest Rankin High School, and it’ll return home Tuesday against Jackson Academy. First pitch for that game is set for 6 p.m.
