HATTIESBURG – Sacred Heart coach Brian Butler believes the holiday break can make or break a team. Well, if Friday’s game against the Sumrall Bobcats was any indicator, the Crusaders are trending toward the former.
HATTIESBURG – The Sacred Heart Crusaders ended their season with a bang Friday night by beating the Stringer Red Devils 42-38.
The Crusaders scored first then led Stringer 28-21 at the break. Sacred Heart fell behind 38-35 after third quarters, but pulled out the victory.

The Sacred Heart Crusaders were officially eliminated from making a return trip to the 1A playoffs last week, but don’t tell that to the Sacred Heart seniors who are playing in their final two games this week and next week. They’re still playing their hearts out, according to Sacred Heart head coach Lonny Schraeder.
The Sacred Heart Crusaders are going through tough times, as they prepare for Mount Olive Friday night. Injuries have mounted up and the offense has stalled against good competition to go along with other issues inside the program.
HATTIESBURG – Lumberton coach Zach Jones was unhappy with his team’s start to Friday’s game with Sacred Heart, and he said that’s an understatement.
In fact, he wouldn’t say what was said in the locker room at halftime, but whatever it was, it worked because Lumberton finished strong to take down Sacred Heart 44-7.
MERIDIAN – Mary Margaret Parker (Sacred Heart) scored in the 87th minute to lift the Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats to a 2-1 victory over Meridian Community College here Tuesday evening.
The win clinches the MACJC South Division title for JCJC. The Lady Bobcats are now 8-1-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the division.
