The Oak Grove Lady Warriors fell to Our Lady Academy Crescents in straight sets (25-19, 25-16, 25-12) Tuesday night. It was the first match of the season for both teams.

Oak Grove will play in the Set It Off Challenge in Jackson this weekend before playing a road match at Hattiesburg Thursday. 

USM announces three-game football series with Mississippi State

HATTIESBURG – Southern Miss Director of Athletics Jon Gilbert announced Tuesday that the school has reached an agreement to play three football games with Mississippi State.

The initial contest of this series in 2019 will be a guarantee game for Southern Miss, while the final two games in 2023 and 2024 are a home-and-home series.

The PCS Lady Bobcats swept Petal Monday night (25-16, 25-19, 25-13) to earn their third win of the young season and improve to a perfect 3-0. It was the Lady Panthers’ first match.

PCS returns to action at the Set it Off Challenge this weekend in Jackson, and Petal will travel to Columbia Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest.

USM continues practice Friday

HATTIESBURG – While the Southern Miss football team finished just its second practice of fall camp Friday morning, the Golden Eagles continue to look toward the upcoming season with their sights set on challenging for a Conference USA championship and third-straight bowl berth.
